Over the years, one of the hallmarks of our company has been to pursue the constant and continuous improvement of the quality of our products, always paying particular attention to respect for the environment. The surrounding territory, in fact, represents an element of value and a wealth to be safeguarded through the responsible use of all resources and the protection of the ecosystems of which the rice fields represent a great reality of biodiversity. For this reason, we punctually researched new cutting-edge techniques for sustainable agriculture that would improve every phase of the production cycle and at the same time be beneficial to the reduction of environmental pollution. In this sense, we have obtained the agri-food certification of Integrated Production and we have equipped ourselves with a photovoltaic system to produce 100% of the energy that the company needs in total autonomy.Among the recent experimentation techniques that we are adopting, we would like to point out the participation (as the only rice company) in the innovative work plan born from the collaboration of MEDSEA (Mediterranean Sea and Coast Foundation), Coldiretti Oristano and Liverani Servizi, which aims to reduce water consumption in agriculture and ensure environmental protection. The new experimental techniques "fielded" by the project foresee the use of the remotely piloted aircraft system (SAPR), which through the use of the drone, allow the precise and detailed monitoring of the health status of the crops. The data collected in flight are transmitted to a software which in turn crosses them with other indications (transmitted by special multispectral sensors) concerning solar radiation and the response of plants. This information is very important, as it reveals the vitality index of rice, its water stress, any attacks by pathogens, the humidity and the temperature of the soil. Already 10-15 days after sowing it is possible to start making the first surveys, thus monitoring the cultivation up to the harvest phase; allowing to intervene promptly and in a localized way should the need arise. This work plan developed within the "Maristanis" project, an international cooperation project for the protection and integrated management of the coastal wetlands of the Gulf of Oristano. The new "precision agriculture" (which represents the future in order to guarantee the protection of the environment) marks an important step forward towards an innovative digital agriculture that will bring benefits to the mass of vegetation, to the finished product and to the costs of production; helping us to make our company even more "sustainable" to guarantee you all excellent productsIn the picture:Andrea Liverali (drone pilot), alongside: Giovanni Ferrari (production manager of the I Ferrari company).
